Combining FCoE SAN A/B and IRF with BridgeAggregation

Storage networks have a traditional setup of SAN A/B, which are totally separated, by a so called “air-gap”.

When using FCoE, this airgap is nearly impossible to maintain (unless only storage would be passing the CNA adapter) if the 2 CNA cards need to be connected to the Ethernet/IP network as well, since there is only 1 Ethernet/IP network. Continue reading →

HP Unified Wireless controller : Basic local guest management

Next to the MSM wireless controllers, HP has the Comware based wireless controllers, which are branded “Unified Controllers” in the portfolio.

There can be wireless deployments of all sizes, but any deployment will probably require some kind of Guest SSID.

Managing access to the Guest SSID depends on the business requirement:

  • Anyone can just access the internet through an open SSID
  • Guests are required to login with a Pre Shared Key or a predefined user account
  • Each Guest must connect with a personal guest account

Comware Portal Redirect for BYOD use

This onboarding process may include 1 or more steps:

  • Link the device to a User account : Requires access to BYOD Portal and login with an existing UAM or LDAP (AD) account

HP VSR Update 7.10 E0102 now supports Python

HP has released an update of the VSR (Virtual Service Router) firmware.

Although release notes state it is just a maintenance release (after 0101), so no new features have been released, I realized I was still working on version E0001 (never even noticed E0101), so a nice new feature of Comware 7 is included:

Simware7 Remote Management Access
